Short Story: Jesus is Coming
The world shifted on June 21, 2025. The first day of Summer, I thought it would be a regular one. My 51st one, but no, it was different. There was a bold move, and upon reviewing the news, we might feel anxious, angry, want to take a side, and feel chaotic. This is happening right before our eyes.

The world has many complexities, and last night, more of that unfolded. Many will want to debate and polarize you. Remember that is Satan’s tactic. Satan has entwined his lies with so many facets of life. Satan wants screams and demands that we polarize and use division everywhere. Hence why “bad things are happening everywhere.”
Look to Jesus, He is a unifier. Jesus taught us to focus on faith and not fear. Jesus is Love.
Jesus taught three parables, recorded in Matthew 25, about how to prepare to meet Him:
The Ten Virgins
The Talents
Sheep and Goats

“The essential lesson of the ten virgins is that we are wise when we accept the gospel, seek to have the Holy Ghost with us, and avoid deception,” said Elder Renlund, General Conference, April 2025. ”Take heed that no man deceive you.” The five Virgins did not need to fear or be anxious because they would survive and prosper. They would prevail. They had oil, and that oil provided them with light, which in turn protected them.
The Talents: God expects us to magnify the abilities we have been given. With Jesus through the Holy Ghost, He expects us to become the best version of ourselves. It doesn’t matter that we start with differing abilities. It is irrelevant to Him, and it should be to us. Go and do as the Lord said and magnify your talent, because it gives hope and light to others.
The Sheep and Goats: The message of the parable is unequivocal. Just like King Benjamin said, when we serve others, we serve God. But when we don’t, we disappoint. Serve God and then your neighbor. He expects us to use our gifts, talents, and abilities to bless the lives of Heavenly Father’s children.
Many are fearful, some are filled with rage and hate, many are forced to pick sides, we are at each other’s throats, especially online. There are complexities all around us. How do we get through it? Not by listening to “Bob” from Chicago or “Jill” from Atlanta, or even me from Idaho.

Follow what the Lord said by preparing your oil, magnifying your talents, loving God, and serving others. It takes critical thinking skills, prayer, and following the Spirit to work through our mess, but God has given us direction, and as we love and trust Him, it will be alright.
But please learn of and know the Savior through the feelings of the Holy Ghost. Rely on those who love you and who love the Savior. Seek God’s guidance to develop your unique abilities and help others, even when it isn’t easy. You will be ready to meet the Savior, and you can join President Nelson in being “joyfully optimistic.” This will help the world prepare for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Pray, read, fast, and listen to the Spirit. This work will bless you with sufficient hope to enter the rest and joy of the Lord, now and in the future. God Bless!
