My story: Imagine a still shot of the sun on the horizon. Is it rising or setting? Is it dusk or dawn? Hard to tell without a reference point right? My first marriage felt like we were going into dawn, "new, fresh, and ready to start." But the reality was really that we were headed into dusk, and then into the darkest abyss of mental, emotional, and physical abuse.
The darkness was constantly blackened by his mental illness and his substance abuse. I thought if we could get help, do counseling, or just pray our way to light then the miracle would happen for us! No...it wasn't so. And another hit, another move, another lie would happen...no truth or light anywhere.
Except for one Pinpoint of Light! This pinpoint came from a source outside of my marriage but it awakened the light I had within me. Through that reference of the pinpoint and my light being awakened, I stretched out of abyss towards the light! I never looked back!
