Will I Ever Get Over My Past?

Beacon of Light Favorite Things

Do You Ever Ask Yourself the Question:

“Will I Ever Get Over My Past?”

I Know There Were Many Times When I Had But the Truth Is: Unfortunately, so many people think they can’t overcome their past, but God wants you to overcome your past because you can’t fulfill your purpose unless you do.

Often women struggle with the guilt and pain of issues such as:

• Molestation • Divorce • A bad breakup • Daddy issues • Mommy issues • A teacher labeled you or your child • Baby daddy issues • Bad job experiences • Somebody died with no explanation • Church hurt • Abortion • Being teased/bullied as a child • Betrayal by a friend

  • Adultery

  • And so much more!

Often they are at a loss of where to start on how to be free from the pain and misery of these situations. So they find themselves stuck. They try to cover it with work, church, ministry, relationships, etc. only to find themselves still hurting and in need of healing. And at best, they often try on their own to figure out where to go in the Bible on their own because they fear they will be judged by others if they share their shameful past.

But what happens when you don’t know where to go in the Bible to deal with your past?

What are some of the questions women often ask themselves when trying to deal with their past?

Question #1 — “Will I Ever Get Over My Past?” Answer: You Can Get Over Your Past So many people think they can’t overcome their past, but actually, God wants you to overcome your past because you can’t fulfill your purpose unless you do.

Question #2 — “Will Family and Friends Always Remember Me for My Past?” Answer: Just Because Your Past May Be Scandalous Does NOT Mean It Has To Define You One person said, “I may have done what they said I did, but I am NOT who they say I am!” What you did in the past does not have to define you. You can find out how to shut down the people who keep reminding you of your past. There is a way without actually going to jail. :)

Question #3 — “Will I Ever Be Able to Break My Soul Ties?” Answer: You Have The Power To Break Your Soul Ties For Good But How?

  • You need to understand the meaning of what soul ties are

  • You need to know and identify what your specific soul ties are and how you created them.

  • You need to then admit that you have soul ties if you want to break them

  • You need to talk to God about it in prayer

So, let’s sum up what we’ve talked about so far:

1. You have more power than you think to overcome your past and break your soul ties for good. 2. If you don’t break your soul ties you could risk remaining stuck and ultimately never fulfilling your purpose The main idea here is that you can overcome your past and break soul ties without having to spend hours trying to figure out what Scriptures to use to help you to get over your past.
